Corinne Bracken - just back from the Europeans - off to Singapore!

Haddon Training Assessor, CORINNE BRACKEN, only just back from the European Show Jumping Championships, is now off to Singapore.  The Youth Olympic Games are being held in Singapore from 14th-26th August and Corinne is attending as Chef D'Equipe of the European Equestrian Team. The Youth Olympic Games is a new venture that will be held half way between each olympic games so that up-coming talent can prepare for, and experience the environment and challenges of the real thing. Britain is proud to be sending one competitor to make up part of the European team.  There will be team and individual Show Jumping events with six teams, one representing each continent - Africa, Asia, Australisia, Europe, North America and South America. On this occasion, for the YOG in Singapore there will be no Dressage or Eventing competitions - it is not known whether in the future further equestrian disciplines will be added.

Overall facts: there will be 3,600 young athletes between 14-18 years of age; 5,000 young athletes and officials; 205 National Olympic Committees; 1,200 media representatives; 20,000 local and international volunteers and 370,000 spectators.  We look forward to hearing Corinne's news when she returns from what promises to be a spectacular event.
