Jamie Kilroy from the East Kent Hunt receives his certificate from Baroness Mallalieu
Haddon Training Hunt Staff Learners pick up their awards at Peterborough Hound Show.
The 122nd Annual Peterborough Royal Foxhound Show was held at the East of England Showground, Peterborough on Wednesday 21st July, 2010. The Festival is the greatest gathering of hounds in the country with over 1,500 hounds from over 100 packs represented.
One of the highlights of the show was the presentation: learners attached to Hunts who had been working towards their National Vocational Qualifications in Kennel Management over the past year. Eight learners were presented with their Certificates of Competence by Baroness Mallalieu QC, President of the Countryside Alliance, whilst Brain Fanshaw gave a commentary.
It was very encouraging to see eight young men in either their hunt uniforms, or suited and bowler hatted, being photographed with the Baroness and Chris Hewlett, MD of Haddon Training. The eight learners receiving their awards were:
Thomas Fuller - South Down & Eridge Hunt
Jamie Kilroy - East Kent Hunt
Lewis Robinson - Derwent Hunt
Adam Holder - North Shropshire Hunt
Paul Davis - Avon Vale Hunt
Peter Davison-White - Suffolk Hunt
Joe Tesseyman - Cottesmore Hunt
Josh Warren - Cheshire Farmers Drag Hunt.
Thanks are due to the Haddon Training assessing and verifying team of John Haig (North), Brian Fanshaw and Derek Christopher (South) and Kate Carman. Kate Stewart-Hilliar also receives a mention for manning the Haddon Training stand by herself for the whole day.
Later in the afternoon judging was halted in the Harrier Ring to enable Chris Hewlett to present Brian Fanshaw with a momento, thanking him for all his help in assisting with the organisation of the NVQ training programmes in Kennel Management.
