
The Animal Care Diploma at Level 2 can be achieved by adding one of nine occupational routes to the mandatory units. Of the nine routes, Haddon Training is able to offer Animal Care, Dog Grooming, Pet Care and Retail, Boarding and Training as their optional routes.
All candidates must achieve all of the four mandatory units plus the number of optional units specified for a chosen occupational route. More details of the mandatory units can be obtained
from Haddon Training on request.
The General Animal Care route is made up from AC3 or CU33 plus six relative units from the list below.
The Dog Grooming route is made up from AC8 plus AC3 or CU33 plus five relative units from the list below.
The Pet Care and Retail route is made up from AC3 or CU33 plus six relative units from the list below.
The Boarding route is made up from AC3 or CU33 plus six relative units from the list below.
The Training route is made up from AC5, CU41, plus AC3 or CU33 plus four relative units from the list below.

• implementing basic animal training programmes (AC5)
• care of visitors to sites
• carrying out reception duties
• preparing and grooming dogs (AC8)
• preparing and grooming animals
• receiving, transmitting and storing information within the workplace
• assisting with the movement of animals
• providing feed and water to animals (CU33)
• handling and caring for animals to enable them to work effectively (CU41)
• controlling and restraining animals
• keeping stock on sale at required levels
• processing orders for goods
• receiving goods and materials into storage
• providing information and advice to customers
• processing payments for purchases.
