On 12th November, 2009, eighteen year old Gemma Maddocks won the Advanced Medium 98, at Addington Manor, Bucks, by nearly 9% riding her 10 year old Hanoverian gelding Wustensand.
Gemma bought Wustensand from Dan Greenwood a year and a half ago and had not competed at this level before buying him. Nor had she ever scored 70% at this level either. The partnership is obviously a great success and Gemma said that he is such a pleasure to train that every time she gets off, she wants to get on again!
Gemma started her Apprenticeship at Level 2 at Judy Harvey Equestrian in April this year. She is supported by Haddon Training assessor Debbie Dye who is delighted by her success. Gemma wants to be a professional rider and her ambition is to get on the young riders' team next year.
Well done Gemma! We wish you every success for the future.
