Horse Care Training

The most precious commodity you can offer any equestrian employer is practical experience. You can collect as many certificates as you like but if you have never wormed a horse, handled a stallion, foaled down a mare, looked after a competition horse at a three day event, travelled with a show jumper or dressage horse, then it is very hard to understand the different situations you can find yourself in. Horses don't read books so they don't always react how you would expect them to.

Under the Work Based Diplomas and Apprenticeship schemes a more practical based approach to qualifications is available for people who are serious about gaining experience in the workplace. You can't achieve these qualifications by answering some questions or writing essays - you can only get them by showing you have actually carried something out up to a national standard.
