The Work Based Diploma Horse Care or Horse Care and Riding Pathways were formerly known as NVQ Units and these optional units were covered:
Schooling
Exercise
Care of the Performance Horse
Polo
Since January 2011 these Pathways have been introduced as a new way of recognising skills and qualifications, regulated by the government. The Pathways award credit for qualifications and units (small steps of learning) They will enable people to gain qualifications at their own pace along flexible routes.
The Pathways will basically cover the same criteria but from a different perspective.
