
Minimum Wages
The Government has confirmed that it has accepted the recommendations from the Low Pay Commissions (LPC) on the new rates for National Minimum Wage, as referred to in the recent budget.
The new rates, which will come into force on 1st October 2011 will be:
- £ 6.08 per hour for low paid workers aged 21 and over
- £ 4.98 per hour for 18-20 year olds
- £ 3.68 per hour for 16-17 year olds
- the apprentice rate, for apprentices under 19 or 19 or over and in their first year of their apprenticeship will increase to £ 2.60 per hour.
