Miners Frolic and Tina Cook win Team & Individual Gold at the Europeans.................

Miners Frolic and Tina Cook do it again at the HSBC FEI European Eventing Championships at Fontainebleau, France.  These championships, held from 23rd - 27th September, proved to be everything a championship should be.  Britain clinched an eighth successive team gold as old rivals disintergrated and crowning it all was a first individual gold medal for Tina Cook.

"Tina Cook rode with grace and guts to win her first major title, 16 years after first appearing on a British senior squad"

Tina said - "to be European champion is massive and unbelievable - I didn't think I'd ever come back to the top level after having two children. The longer you're in the sport, the more you appreciate it when it goes right.  I'm very lucky to have a horse of the class of Miner's Frolic and he's given me a new lease of life."

"Tina and the 11-year-old Olympic double medallist Miners Frolic led from the start, and in every phase she gave a masterclass of horsemanship."   Horse & Hound. 1st October, 2009

As many of you will know, Miner's Frolic is by the thoroughbred stallion, Miners Lamp which stood at Haddon Stud. Chris Hewlett, Managing Director or Haddon Training, was proprietor of the stud until it closed in 2002.

The British Equestrian FederationTeam GBE Official Website states :

Eventing Miners Frolic would prefer to be called Henry while at home and has been ridden by Tina Cook for the last 6 years. She describes him as being, "Very kind, willing, sensitive and generous. He likes to be cuddled a lot, loves people and adores children. He loves companionship and affection."

Tina's favourite thing about Henry is, "his willing brain and his trainable personality" but he’s not always the bravest soul, "he thinks the stingers or sparrows are going to eat him on a hack!"

The exciting news is that frozen semen for Miner's Lamp is still available. For more details, costs and Terms & Conditions please go to www.haddonstud.co.uk
