Is all the training down to working with horses or other animals ?

Yes and no! The other qualifications that go to make up the final Apprenticeship award are Key Skills and a Technical Certificate.

You will also be required to produce a Portfolio showing and confirming the work you have covered during your training - but you will get help with this!! The aim of this part of the training is to make sure that you have the necessary number skills (for example to weigh out feed correctly, or calculate stable or kennel sizes), communication skills (so that you can deal with clients in person and on the phone) and Information Technology skills (as all careers rely more and more on the ability to make IT work for you).

Not only are these parts of the course useful - they also give the learner/employee confidence and maturity, as do learning to work as part of a team and developing skills that help in the solving of problems.
