It's not like going to back to school because you are being asked questions on a subject that you are passionate about and you have already shown that you are practically capable of the tasks the test asks you about. In Horse Care the Knowledge Elements are known as Certificates in the Principles of Horse Care at Levels 2 & 3. In Animal Care the Knowledge Elements are still known as Technical Certifices.
In a nutshell, the Knowledge Element is a nationally accredited qualification that provides the theory and understanding of the Vocational Qualification within the Apprenticeship at the level you are training at!
