BHS Courses

BRITISH HORSE SOCIETY exams are industry recognised vocational examinations designed for and aimed at people who wish to pursue teaching as a career, or who simply want to explore the extent of their equestrian knowledge. The stage exams that we can offer form part of the entry requirements for the BHS Assistant Instructor (AI) qualification:

Course Entry Requirements
 


BHS Horse Knowledge Care &, Riding  Stage 1       

Gold or Junior BHS Membership and to be 14 years old.
   
BHS Horse Knowledge, Care and Riding Stage 2 Gold or Junior BHS Membership.
BHS Stage 1.
Riding & Road Safety
Minimum age 16 years old.
   

BHS Horse Knowledge, Care and Riding Stage 3

Gold or Junior BHS Membership.
BHS Stage 2 (complete, or the appropriate section for Riding or Care).
Riding & Road Safety.
Minimum age of 17 years old.
   

BHS Certificate in Riding and Road Safety

Minimum age 16 years old.

   

BHS Preliminary Teachers Test

Gold or Junior BHS Membership.
BHS HKC&R Stage 2
Minimum of 18 years
   
BHS Preliminary Teachers Certificate

Candidates must be a Gold or Junior Gold member of the society.

The minimum age for the Stage 3 Exam is 17 years.
Candidates must have attained the BHS Stage 1 and 2 examinations (complete, or the appropriate section for Riding or Care).

   
BHS Assistant Instructor's Certificate (AI)

Gold or Junior BHS Membership.
BHS Certificate in Riding and Road Safety

BHS HKC&R Stage 3

BHS Preliminary Teachers Certificate
Minimum of 18 years
