
These qualifications meet the EU regulations covering the welfare of animals during transportation and are ideal for all caring and keen horse enthusiasts wishing to increase their knowledge and understanding of horses. They cover animal welfare, legislation, horse health, food, rest and water requirements for horses whilst being transported. They are accredited by the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA) and are recognised by DEFRA as an appropriate Certificate of Competence to meet the current legislative requirements which came into force on 1st April, 2008, and therefore test the knowledge, understanding and practical ability of anyone transporting horses in connection with an economic activity.
