More about the Harwich Horse Rangers Association

The Horse Rangers Association (Harwich) Limited is an independent registered children’s charity and youth organisation dedicated to horsemanship, horse riding lessons, and equine education for young people in the Tendring and Colchester area. Originally part of the Horse Rangers Association founded in 1954 by Raymond Gordon, the Harwich Troop was established in 1990 and became an independent charity in 2004, while maintaining its Horse Ranger heritage. Run entirely by volunteers, the organisation provides horse riding instruction, stable management training, and equine theory lessons, giving children who do not own a horse the opportunity to learn about horses, develop confidence, discipline, and practical skills in a safe and supportive environment, regardless of their background or financial circumstances.
