We’re thrilled to introduce Jade Nason, who has recently joined the Haddon Training team as a Racing Trainer Coach. With a strong family background in equestrian sport and a wealth of hands-on racing experience, Jade brings a deep understanding of the industry and a true passion for horses. Read more about her journey below.
Can you introduce yourself and tell us a bit about your background?
Hi, I’m Jade Nason. I come from a competitive equestrian family and grew up surrounded by horses, helping out at our riding school and competing as a junior showjumper. After finishing college, I actually took a short break from horses – but it didn’t last long!
My brother, who’s a jockey, asked me to help out in the office at our local racing yard. Eight weeks later, I was back riding, and I’ve never looked back. I realised during that time away that something was missing, and I found it again through racing.
Can you share some highlights or memorable moments from your racing career?
I absolutely loved my career in racing. Working as a travelling head girl was busy – but in the best possible way. I regularly travelled with horses to France, and later in my career, I had the opportunity to work for a large, well-known yard. I was fortunate to saddle numerous winners, and there’s truly nothing like the thrill of cheering one home – especially when you’ve been involved with that horse from the very beginning. One of the proudest moments of my career was riding out for the late Queen and jumping out of the stalls for her.
These days, I have my own ex-racehorse who I’ve retrained as a showjumper. We now compete in affiliated events and regularly take part in the ROR (Retraining of Racehorses) series.
What drew you to pursue your role as a Trainer Coach at Haddon Training?
For me, this role is the perfect way to stay involved in the racing industry while being able to give something back. I’ve had some incredible experiences and worked with fantastic people throughout my career, and I want to pass that knowledge and passion on to others. Becoming a Trainer Coach with Haddon felt like a natural step – supporting learners as they grow and helping them reach their goals is something I’m really passionate about.
