Just Around The Corner (JAC)
Just Around The Corner (JAC) is a Christian charity based near Wokingham in Berkshire, set in 15 acres of stunning English countryside. Founded in 1998, they are a unique centre providing personal learning and development therapies for children and young people. Employing a blend of therapeutic models, including Equine Assisted Learning (EAL), they have helped enhance and inspire the lives of thousands of people through their unique blend of activities.
More about JAC
JAC wants to make Post-16 education accessible to all, especially those who would struggle in mainstream further education. Their courses offer young people the chance to acquire qualifications and real-world experience in their stable yard, or with their small animals and reptiles. Students complete practical daily responsibilities caring for horses or other animals, as well as completing assignments and collecting evidence to support their studies. Most of their students at Post-16 level have an EHCP (Education Health Care Plan) which funds the placement following a consultation process by the local authority.
They are very proud to have been awarded the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Services. The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service is the highest award; it is the MBE for volunteer groups.
