We’re proud to introduce our new Alternative Provision partnership with Thurleigh Equestrian Centre, located in Bedfordshire, offering a specialist education programme called ‘Progressive Strides‘.
This exciting collaboration provides individuals aged 14–25 with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) an opportunity to thrive through equine-based learning.
Launching in September 2025, this carefully designed programme enables learners to work towards recognised Horse Care qualifications at Level 1 or 2, all while developing life skills in a calm, structured, and supportive outdoor environment. With a focus on building confidence and promoting personal growth, learners will benefit from a blend of practical experience and tailored academic support.
The programme is delivered across three days per week and learners receive expert guidance and support from the both the team at Thurleigh Equestrian Centre and Haddon Training.
The programme is led by Beth Maloney, an experienced equine professional and passionate educator. With a background as Assistant Principal at Oaklands College, a former director at the British Equestrian Federation, and author of equine books, Beth brings a wealth of knowledge and compassion to her role.
“We’re really looking forward to welcoming the learners to Thurleigh. Our goal is to make every young person feel confident, safe, and inspired.”
— Beth Maloney
Meet-and-greet sessions with Beth and the team will be available from 12th May 2025. Optional “Keep in Touch” days over the summer holidays will also support learners in settling into their new environment ahead of the September start.
Location: Thurleigh Equestrian Centre, Redgate Cottage, Mill Road, Thurleigh, Bedfordshire, MK44 2DP
