Jollyes Launch Dog Grooming Apprenticeships with Haddon Training

We are proud to announce our new partnership with Jollyes – The Pet People to offer our dog grooming apprenticeships at a select number of their stores. We recently spoke to Jollyes’ Learning and Development Manager, Chris Scott, who shared Jollyes’ reasons behind choosing Haddon Training, the anticipated benefits for employees and the business, and the significant impact this collaboration will have on Jollyes’ future development initiatives.

Can you tell us a bit about Jollyes and your role and responsibilities within the company?

Jollyes is a national Pet Retailer with over 100 stores across the UK that has been in business for over 50 years. We sell everything that a Pet Parent needs to provide for their pet as well as offer services including a Community Pet Clinic and The Jolly Groomer.

My role is to lead the Learning and Development agenda for the company, ensuring that all of our colleagues are fully trained for their roles and have opportunities to further develop their careers with us.

2) Can you tell us more about Jollyes’ choice to work with Haddon Training to provide Dog Grooming apprenticeships?

We felt that Haddon were a great choice because they have a large amount of expertise in the area of Dog Grooming and apprenticeships. More importantly we felt that they were down to earth and the kind of people our colleagues will love working with! The experience of interacting with the team so far has been excellent and that’s an important part of any successful working relationship.

3) How do you think this partnership with benefit your employees and business?

Jollyes has never done apprenticeships of any kind before so this is a starting point. We see this partnership as a way of offering development to our current and future employees and the opportunity to gain recognised qualifications that can benefit them throughout their career. The business will benefit greatly from having well trained and skilled groomers that will only raise our reputation and customer numbers. We believe this will kick start the desire for apprenticeships across the business – not just in Dog Grooming!
