Meet Sammi, who completed her Level 2 Dog Groomer apprenticeship through Haddon Training. Sammi shares how she discovered her passion for grooming, the skills she developed during her apprenticeship, and the support she received along the way.
What inspired you to become a dog groomer?
I started off as a volunteer at the groomers, and after seeing how satisfying it can be to groom some dogs – and the bond you can build with them – I knew it would be a good career for me to go into.
What did you enjoy most about your apprenticeship?
I enjoyed learning all the different styles of grooming, new techniques, and so much more.
What are you most proud of from your apprenticeship?
I would say I am most proud of how I did overall. I didn’t have the smoothest journey (work placement–wise), and Haddon helped and supported me so much throughout. Overall, I’m proud of how well I did.
How has your experience been as an apprentice with Haddon Training?
Haddon Training have been absolutely amazing throughout my whole experience. Considering the troubles I had with my work placement, they did everything in their power to support me and ensure I had a successful apprenticeship. I cannot thank my Trainer Coach, Katie Hampshire, and the rest of the team enough for how much support they gave me.
What are your future career goals?
My future career goal is to open my own salon eventually and help others live their dream of becoming a dog groomer, like me.
