Meet Alex, Team Manager at Cherry Tree Kennels, who is nearing completion of her Level 3 Team Leader apprenticeship with Haddon Training. Alex shares her experience of balancing full-time work with learning, the support she’s received throughout her apprenticeship, and how the qualification has helped her grow professionally.
What have you enjoyed the most about your apprenticeship?
The best part has been seeing my skills grow in my profession, thanks to the knowledge I’ve gained on the course.
Have you encountered any challenges on your apprenticeship?
The assignments can be hard work. You do need to commit and get them done, but it’s worth it.
Did you feel supported by Cherry Tree Kennels and Haddon Training throughout your apprenticeship?
I felt fully supported by both organisations every step of the way. Both Jen at Cherry Tree Kennels and my tutor, Jenny, were always contactable and willing to help. When I experienced some personal issues, they were both very understanding and worked together to create a plan that allowed me to continue with my qualification.
Would you recommend this apprenticeship as a way to gain a qualification?
I would. Haddon Training has been very respectful of the fact that I was working full time, and they understood that my workload sometimes meant sessions or deadlines needed to be adjusted.
