Working together

The BHS protect and promote the interests of all horses and those who care about them. As a charity, they work to protect the unique bond shared between horses and people, to make sure it can be enjoyed for future generations.

This unique partnership enables all equine apprentices with Haddon Training in England, to have discounted direct entry to BHS Stages assessments as they near the completion of their apprenticeship with us.

How it works

Apprentices will have the opportunity to discuss the BHS assessment they wish to enter with their Trainer Coach and check their eligibility. Once the apprenticeship is approaching completion, their Trainer Coach will fill in a request form with the apprentice. Our apprentices can then contact the BHS to book and pay for the assessment.

Direct entry

Learners completing the Level 2 Equine Groom apprenticeship will receive direct entry to BHS Stage 2, and learners completing the Level 3 Senior Equine Groom will receive direct entry to BHS Stage 3. The apprenticeship pathway chosen for their Haddon Training qualification will determine what aspects of the BHS qualification they can gain direct entry to.

Apprentices gain direct entry to the applicable aspects as they approach the completion of their apprenticeship. Please note: participants will gain direct entry to the Stage 2 Coach element once their apprenticeship has been certificated.

Full details and the direct entry aspects are found on the brochure below.
