Business Apprenticeships in Equine

Running a successful equine business takes more than expert horse care. Strong administration, confident leadership, and high-quality customer service are essential for creating a professional, well-organised yard or equine organisation. At Haddon Training, we deliver business apprenticeships designed specifically for equine environments, supporting both employers and learners to develop the skills needed for long-term success.

Our business qualifications include Customer Service Practitioner, Business Administrator, and Team Leader, all adapted to reflect the day-to-day realities of equine workplaces.

Customer Service Practitioner (Level 2)

Building and maintaining positive, professional relationships is a key part of working in the equine industry. Whether dealing with horse owners, clients, riders, or visitors, clear communication and a professional approach help build trust and confidence. This apprenticeship suits individuals working in riding schools, livery yards, equine veterinary practices, studs, training yards, and competition venues.

Learners develop practical skills in managing enquiries and bookings, handling payments, resolving issues, and delivering a positive customer journey. Effective customer service supports business reputation, encourages repeat custom, and contributes to high standards of horse care and welfare. On completion, apprentices gain a nationally recognised Level 2 qualification and are well placed to progress into more senior client-facing roles.

Business Administrator (Level 3)

Efficient administration is the backbone of a well-run equine business. This qualification focuses on developing strong organisational and digital skills within a busy equine setting. Apprentices learn how to manage yard records, client and horse documentation, scheduling, invoicing, compliance paperwork, and internal communication.

The Level 3 Business Administrator qualification provides a clear pathway into roles such as office manager, operations coordinator, or further leadership development, helping equine businesses run smoothly and professionally.

Team Leader (Level 3)

For those ready to take the next step, the Team Leader apprenticeship supports the transition into supervisory and leadership roles within the equine sector. Learners build confidence in managing staff, organising workloads, supporting performance, and maintaining safe and efficient day-to-day operations.

This qualification is particularly valuable in environments such as riding schools, livery yards, studs, and training centres, where teamwork, consistency, and high welfare standards are essential. Completion prepares learners for management responsibility and future progression into senior leadership roles.
